Club for Growth.NET Increases Ad Buy in AZ-05
Washington - Today, Club for Growth.Net added $50,000 to its ad buy in Arizona's Fifth Congressional District, running on broadcast television in the Phoenix market. Today's ad buy comes on top of a previous $250,000 ad buy.
This ad seeks to educate Arizona taxpayers about Rep. Harry Mitchell's long career of voting for higher taxes. For more than fifteen years, Harry Mitchell has supported a higher tax burden in Arizona-as mayor, as state senator, and as congressman.
When Mitchell was the mayor of Tempe, he supported higher property taxes in 1992 and 1993. He continued in the same vein as a state senator, voting against property tax relief twice in 2005. And now, as a U.S. representative, Harry Mitchell has kicked his love of tax hikes into high gear, voting for at least four tax hikes in his two years in Congress. When taxpayers see this ad and realize how many tax increases Mitchell has supported, hopefully they will call Harry Mitchell and urge him to change his behavior and support lower taxes.
"It is important to run this ad so people in Arizona can know about the kind of high-tax policies Harry Mitchell has been supporting," said Club for Growth.Net President Pat Toomey. "Hopefully, they will call Harry Mitchell and tell him to vote for lower taxes."
