New Ad in New Mexico
Club for Growth.Net Releases Ad in New Mexico
Urges Tom Udall to Support Domestic DrillingWashington - Today, Club for Growth.Net began running a television ad on broadcast television throughout New Mexico. The $150,000 ad buy will run for two weeks.
Entitled "Strange," the ad seeks to educate people in New Mexico about Rep. Tom Udall's strange views on property and asks that they call him and urge him to support domestic oil drilling. Consider Udall's record on property. Over his nine years in office, Udall voted against off-shore oil drilling multiple times. But Udall also voted for more government power to take private property, and he voted to keep the Death Tax. For Tom Udall, if it's private property, he thinks the government should take it; if someone dies, Tom Udall thinks the government should tax it; but if it's American oil, he thinks the government should leave it in the ground.
"We hope people in New Mexico will see Tom Udall's poor record on property and urge him to support H.R. 3089, which would repeal many of the prohibitions against off-shore drilling in America," said Club for Growth.Net President Pat Toomey.
"Over his nine years in Congress, Tom Udall's record on domestic drilling has been abysmal. He has voted against drilling in ANWR and the Outer Continental Shelf at least ten times. And just three months ago-with average gas prices at $3.69-he voted against a measure that would have expanded federal leases for oil exploration and development. If enough people call Tom Udall, maybe he will stop voting with the special interests and start voting with the American people."
