New Ad in PA-10

Club for Growth.NET Releases New Ad in PA-10

Washington - Today, Club for Growth.Net released a $250,000 ad buy in Pennsylvania's Tenth Congressional District. The ad will run on broadcast and cable television throughout the district.

Entitled "Hurting," the ad highlights Rep. Chris Carney's record of voting for higher taxes and wasteful pork projects even while taxpayers in Pennsylvania are struggling with tough economic times. Chris Carney voted for a budget that included a massive tax increase that would have raised taxes over $2,000 a year for the average family. And when given the chance to vote against outrageous pork projects, Carney refused. Instead he voted to spend taxpayer dollars on the Kansas Regional Prisons Museum (RC #670) and the Lobster Institute in Maine (RC #735). The ad seeks to educate people in Pennsylvania-10 so they can call Chris Carney and tell him to vote for lower taxes and an end to wasteful pork spending.

"Chris Carney's record on taxes and pork-barrel spending is insulting to taxpayers who are struggling in these hard times," said Club for Growth.Net President Pat Toomey. "If Chris Carney truly cared about Pennsylvania taxpayers he would stop voting for tax increases and wasteful spending. We hope this ad will encourage people in Pennsylvania to call Rep. Carney and tell him to support policies that lower taxes and cut wasteful government spending."

New TV Ad in New Hampshire

Club for Growth.NET Releases New Ad in New Hampshire

Washington - Today, Club for Growth.Net began a statewide television ad buy in New Hampshire. The $400,000 ad buy will run for two weeks on broadcast and cable television throughout the state.

Entitled "Add Up," the ad seeks to inform people in New Hampshire about former Governor Jeanne Shaheen's abysmal record on the economy so they can encourage her to change her ways. As governor, Shaheen enacted the first statewide property tax, proposed the first ever sales tax, and said she would sign the first state income tax. Shaheen also opposed lawsuit reforms, making it harder for New Hampshire businesses to grow. At this time, when encouraging economic growth is so important, people in New Hampshire need to be aware of Jeanne Shaheen's record so that they can call her and encourage her to support policies like lower taxes and lawsuit reform.

"We hope this ad will make people in New Hampshire aware of Jeanne Shaheen's troublesome record on economic issues," said Club for Growth.Net President Pat Toomey. "Policies that raise taxes will only stifle our economy and hurt New Hampshire workers when they can least afford it. We encourage everyone in New Hampshire to call Jeanne Shaheen and tell her to start embracing policies that will lower taxes and reform our legal system."

New TV Ad in Colorado

Club for Growth.NET Releases New Ad in Colorado

Washington - Today, Club for Growth.Net released a statewide television ad in Colorado. The $400,000 ad buy will run for two weeks on broadcast TV in the Denver market.

Entitled "Property," the ad seeks to highlight the problem of eminent domain abuse in Colorado and educate people in Colorado about Rep. Mark Udall's record on private property rights. Over the past couple of years, hundreds of people in Colorado have seen their property condemned by the government. An eighty-seven year old man's home was taken by the government in 2000 and a family-owned restaurant was forced to close its doors when the government condemned the property. Despite the tragedy of eminent domain abuse in Colorado, Rep. Mark Udall has voted to make it easier for government to take private property. This ad encourages people in Colorado to call Rep. Udall and tell him to protect private property from eminent domain abuse.

"We hope this ad will make Mark Udall aware of the tragic consequences of eminent domain abuse so that he will change his ways and start defending private property," said Club for Growth.Net President Pat Toomey. "How many people have to lose their homes and businesses before Mark Udall votes to protect them? This ad seeks to educate people in Colorado about how Rep. Udall is voting. We encourage them to call Mark Udall and tell him to start voting to protect private property."

New Ad in New Mexico

Club for Growth.Net Releases Ad in New Mexico
Urges Tom Udall to Support Domestic Drilling

Washington - Today, Club for Growth.Net began running a television ad on broadcast television throughout New Mexico. The $150,000 ad buy will run for two weeks.

Entitled "Strange," the ad seeks to educate people in New Mexico about Rep. Tom Udall's strange views on property and asks that they call him and urge him to support domestic oil drilling. Consider Udall's record on property. Over his nine years in office, Udall voted against off-shore oil drilling multiple times. But Udall also voted for more government power to take private property, and he voted to keep the Death Tax. For Tom Udall, if it's private property, he thinks the government should take it; if someone dies, Tom Udall thinks the government should tax it; but if it's American oil, he thinks the government should leave it in the ground.

"We hope people in New Mexico will see Tom Udall's poor record on property and urge him to support H.R. 3089, which would repeal many of the prohibitions against off-shore drilling in America," said Club for Growth.Net President Pat Toomey.

"Over his nine years in Congress, Tom Udall's record on domestic drilling has been abysmal. He has voted against drilling in ANWR and the Outer Continental Shelf at least ten times. And just three months ago-with average gas prices at $3.69-he voted against a measure that would have expanded federal leases for oil exploration and development. If enough people call Tom Udall, maybe he will stop voting with the special interests and start voting with the American people."

New Ad in Colorado

Club for Growth.Net Releases Ad in Colorado
Urges Mark Udall to Reject Wasteful Spending

Washington - Today, Club for Growth.Net began running a television ad on broadcast television and cable systems throughout Colorado. The $400,000 ad buy will run for two weeks.

Entitled "Waste," the ad details all the wasteful pork projects Rep. Mark Udall has voted for and urges taxpayers in Colorado to call Rep. Udall and tell him to stop sending their tax dollars on such outlandish projects. These projects include a ballet theatre in New York City (RC #668), a park in San Francisco (RC #839), and a lobster institute in Maine (RC #735). In fact, out of 50 separate amendments to remove pork projects from the FY 2008 appropriations bills, Mark Udall voted against 49 of them. In other words, Rep. Udall voted in favor of wasteful earmark spending 98 percent of the time.

"Mark Udall needs to change his wasteful spending policies," said Club for Growth.Net President Pat Toomey. "If Mark Udall wants to spend his own money on a ballet theatre in New York and a lobster institute in Maine, that's his prerogative, but Colorado taxpayers shouldn't be expected to foot the bill. This ad seeks to educate people in Colorado about how Rep. Udall is voting. We encourage them to call Mark Udall and tell him to stop wasting taxpayer dollars on pork projects."
